P34B Completes the Careers & Enterprise Company Employer Assessment
We recently completed the Careers & Enterprise Company Employer Self‑Assessment and reviewed our results using the comparison view, which benchmarks employer performance against national, regional, and sector averages across the nine Employer Standards.
Our results show that P34B is operating consistently within the “Achieving” and “Exceeding” categories, reflecting a structured, intentional approach to careers engagement rather than ad‑hoc activity. In several standards, our performance sits above national and sector averages, indicating that our scale as a micro‑SME has not limited impact, consistency, or quality.
The comparison highlights particular strength in areas associated with:
- Purposeful engagement, where activity is clearly linked to outcomes rather than volume
- Sustained relationships, as opposed to one‑off interventions
- Clear pathways into work, supporting understanding of roles, routes, and progression rather than generic careers messaging
Across the three Employer Standards pillars, our percentage progress demonstrates balanced maturity rather than over‑reliance on a single area. This confirms that our approach integrates leadership, culture, and delivery — aligning careers engagement with how we operate as a business.
Importantly, the comparison view has also helped identify where further improvement is both realistic and worthwhile. While some organisations score highly through scale alone, the benchmarking reinforces that quality, continuity, and intent remain the differentiators that matter — particularly for smaller, values‑led employers.
The assessment has therefore become more than a scorecard. It provides a practical reference point for refining our internships, mentoring, careers hub activity, and outreach design, ensuring these remain relevant, inclusive, and grounded in real delivery environments.
We will continue to use the Employer Standards framework as a live reference, repeating the assessment as our activity evolves and using comparison insight to guide where we invest time, effort, and partnership.
